The dog barks, but the train keeps on rolling.

  1. Is there something wrong with me that I pictured the dog barking because the train hit it?

  3. Saw you on Inkhorn Blue and realized I hadn't been to your site in awhile ... found you have this new one. Some good bites, esp the one about Christians being the only sheep that bite. Ouch! Sad that happens to be true!

I have some pics of Wyoming wildlife artifacts up if you get a chance to take a look. wb

  4. Here's a true story. I have an acquaintance who was guest preaching at a little country church out in West Texas. All through the singing there was this hound dog who just kept barking and howling. About 10 minutes into the sermon, one of the old cowboys got up and left. A couple of minutes later, there was a gunshot and no more barking. Poor guy preaching had no idea how to respond to that.

So, the train may keep going but the preacher wasn't sure he should. :-)

  5. Excellent story, Dave.

Trains do what they are supposed to do. Every dog in town could bark in protest about that train, but it won't change anything. The train will fulfill its function and the protesting dog can jump in the lake--as far as the train is concerned--because it will fulfill its mission.
